After studying broadcast journalism at Illinois State University, Michael began his career in Central Illinois creating commercials and on-air promotions for local television affiliates.

From 2008 to 2012, He worked for The Marketing Store where he created content for clients such as McDonald’s, Coca-Cola, and Southern Comfort. From there, he worked for Maddock Douglas, an innovation consulting firm, developing an internal photo/video offering. Michael left Maddock Douglas to be a creative director at FÁS Chicago where he worked primarily for Case Construction.

After relocating too Indianapolis, Michael ventured out on his own, starting Michael Durr Photo/Video, LLC. He works in partnership with, creating video content on all things photography.

Michael says, “Throughout his career, talented friends and great mentors have surrounded me. The combination of my professional experience, personality and drive to improve has given me a unique perspective from behind the lens.”

Bill Foley PhotographerBill Foley is a Pulitzer Prize-winning photojournalist, artist, and educator, who has been making
photographs since 1974. Working for the Associated Press and Time magazine, as well as a
number of non-profit agencies such as Save the Children and Children’s Aid Society, Bill has
lived and worked in 52 countries over the last 40 years. His work has been published in every
major newspaper and magazine around the world as well as displayed in galleries and museums
in Cairo, Beirut, Tel Aviv, New York City, Los Angeles, Indianapolis, and Sarajevo among others.

Growing up in Indianapolis, he attended Shortridge High School, where he is in the “Hall of
Fame”, along with Indianapolis luminaries Kurt Vonnegut and Senator Richard Lugar. After high
school, he went to Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana where he studied
photojournalism with Dr. Wilmer Counts and Dr. John Ahlhauser. He was awarded the IU School
of Journalism’s “Distinguished Alumni Award” in 2013.

Today he continues his work, teaching at Marian University and making photographs. He lives in
Indianapolis with his dog Sophie and Jack, his cat.
